Sports massage for cyclists

MassageCycle improves performance, prevents injury, treats overuse, and aids in recovery for all stages of cycling life. It also reduces pain and swelling in the body, increases flexibility, and relaxes the mind. Muscles are flushed of toxins, leading to a greater kinaesthetic awareness. An assessment is given at the start of the 75 minute session.

Deep tissue

Using hands, forearms, elbows, and thumbs, the massage therapist softens muscular adhesions and realigns deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. This is the perfect choice for clients with ailments such as chronic back pain, neck and shoulder pain, repetitive strain injuries, sciatica and muscle tension, or spasms. As with any bodywork, this massage should be performed regularly for maintenance and prevention.

Myofascial release

Myofascial release causes fascia to relax and unwind. Fascia is a continuous web of collagen and elastin that give structure and support to the body. Injured muscle fibers and trauma result in shortened and tightened fascia, causing restriction and tension. This treatment, administered with minimal lotion, is often combined with deep tissue therapy to reduce chronic pain, headaches, stiff neck, shoulder problems, lower back pain, poor posture, and plantar fascitis. Gentle sustained pressure increases range of motion and reduces musculoskeletal pain.

Deep relaxation

Breath is the key to relaxation, as well as an important antidote to stress. Stress affects more than just the mind; it permeates every part of thebody. Common responses to stress include muscle stiffness, headaches, fatigue, stomach problems, anxiety, and insomnia. This transcendent treatment engages the parasympathetic nervous system by incorporating yogic breathing, known as pranayama, alongside aromatherapy and body awareness exercises.

Pain reduction

Pain is a thief that saps one’s life force. Massage is a well-regarded and evidenced-based nonpharmacological treatement and works well with other physician-based protocols for managing pain. This session addresses a variety of specific chronic and acute pain issues. For advanced pain management, CBD balm alongside Lidocaine, Menthol and Arnica can be applied directly to areas of pain and discomfort (+ $15).
